Join us for a relaxing few hours at our Slow Stitch Workshop where you'll get to create your own nature inspired textile artwork. Depending on the colours of fabrics you select for your textile artwork, it may look like echinacea, rudbeckia, or something completely from your imagination.
Let your creativity flow as you stitch away in the Target Devon repurposing unit at Riverside Road, Barnstaple. No experience necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide all the materials you need. Don't miss out on this opportunity to unwind and craft something beautiful!
Join experienced designer & sewing tutor Jennifer Mills for a relaxed and fun morning of creativity.
Jennifer is proud to be part of the Target Devon team, supporting employees in her role as a Job Coach. Her experience includes womenswear design, pattern cutting, workshop facilitation in Arts on Prescription, community sewing classes,demonstrating sewing techniques on live television and working in therapeutic horticulture.
With a passion for repurposing textiles into wearable, useable items and textile art Jennifer's love of upcycling lends itself to being creative with the wonderful array of fabrics to choose from in the Target Devon workshop.
Workshop content - You'll be using repurposed textiles to create a cone flower inspired image using a variety of collage and hand stitch techniques, all of which Jennifer will guide you through.
Select from a wide variety of fabrics and embroidery threads to create your one of a kind piece, ready to be framed. We even have some second hand frames available which can be used to complete your unique work of art, or bring your own, perferably A6 to A4 kind of size.
